Thankfulness ; The Countdown to Thanksgiving Day 6 &7

I didn't get a chance to post yesterday because I was completely consumed by watching episodes of Veronica Mars, thanks to my friend Janelle. Leo took the Alanna out for the afternoon which meant that I had a whole afternoon of me time to do whatever I choose. So of course I sat around watching Veronica Mars and eating leftover Halloween candy. I mean what else. So as for yesterday I was very thankful that I had a chance to spend the afternoon relaxing alone and watching TV.

As for today, I am not feeling in a very thankful mood, if we are being honest. I'm actually in a pretty crappy mood. I know I should be thankful no matter what, and I guess that I am, but today I am a grump and I don't feel like posting how thankful I am for something. Instead I will just say I am thankful for another day....because I am thankful that I woke up today....grump or not.

Thankfulness ; The Countdown to Thanksgiving Day 5

I'm a little late on blogging today because we had an unexpected trip to Philadelphia, PA. today. Our friends Aaron and Jess called about 2 and asked if we wanted to go to Philly to get a cheese steak, so we figured hey, why not? For those of you who have never been to Philly, there is an on going rivalry that has been going for years and years between 2 Cheese steak places right across the street from each other. Geno's and Pat's . Those who live there or course have their favorites and it's almost sacrilegious to take food from one across the street to the other. They get very serious about their steaks! So we drove about an hour and a half to decide who had the better cheese steak.  Both places had a line around the building so Leo and Jess stood in one line and Aaron and I stood across the street at the other place and decided to get one of each to compare. After we ate we were going to go to The Naked Chocolate for desert but they are closed so we just headed home. It was fun though, a nice little spur of the moment trip.

Geno's or Pat's THAT is the question? So we had to try both!

And the winner is.......Geno's....at least in my book :)

Jess and Aaron liked Pat's....Leo and I prefer Geno's!

So today I am thankful for spontaneity and fun with friends. I am very blessed to have a core group of friends to share things with and to take random trips with! You all are amazing and I am lucky to have all of you in my life! Thanks for lots of fun over the years and I look forward to many more memories to come!

Thankfulness ; The Countdown to Thanksgiving Day 4

Good day! Pretend I'm saying that in a British accent. :) hehe. I love accents. Annnnnnnyyyywaaaayyyy,
Today has been a wonderful, relaxing, sleeping in kinda day! The kids were off school today and they slept in and we have just laid around doing nothing and watching TV. I went to the dollar store and got a few crafts to do with them, which they loved. Now if you know me , you know that I hate paint and markers but I broke down and decided to let them finger paint lol. They had a good time so that is all that matters.

I bought these cute little wooden plaques at the dollar store and had them each paint them and  put their hand prints on them. I still have to write their names and date on them.

Today I am thankful for the quality time I get to spend with my kids! I feel very blessed that I am able to be a stay at home mom and take care of them.  I am learning to take my days one day at a time and enjoy every day that I get to spend with them. They grow up so fast and I am glad that I get to watch them become such awesome little people.

Thankfulness ; The Countdown to Thanksgiving Day 3

The countdown to Thanksgiving continues! It's November 3rd and I am thankful it's Thursday lol. The weekend is in site which means I can sleep in. Do you see a pattern in my morning posts? To say I am not a morning person is an understatement.

But really, today I am thankful for my salvation. How lucky am I that I have a God who looks over me , protects me and leads me? How lucky I am that I have a Jesus who paid the ultimate price so that I can live forever in eternity? I know it all sounds very cliche' but I truly feel thankful that I am able to have a relationship with the God of the universe and it is nothing that I have ever experienced. There have been many many times that I walked away but every time I came back He was there with open arms. I have been lucky enough to experience Gods unfailing love, and although I fall.....a lot, He is there to pick me up! How amazing is that! He has pulled me out of some really dark places, and for that alone I am Thankful!

I am truly blessed!

Thankfulness ; The Countdown to Thanksgiving Day 2

Good morning bloggers! Although it is way to early for me and I am not a morning person whatsoever! The only thing I can think about right now is taking a nap lol, but that's beside the point! It's day 2 on my countdown to Thanksgiving! Yay! I can actually say I am really looking forward to the holidays this year. Usually I'm just like bah humbug. I'm not sure what has changed but I like it. I'm ready to pull out the Christmas decor already, and start getting crafty with all of the awesome ideas I have collected on Pinterest! Which is another post for another day.....but lets just say as a crafty mom....I'm OBSESSED!

I digress...

Today I am so thankful to actually have our own home! I feel amazingly blessed that we are able to finally have  a place that is completely ours and I love it! It's big enough for all of us, we have a beautiful yard for the kids to play outside and I just can not wait to decorate for Christmas! Even though I will have to buy some new decorations because ours is very limited considering the size of our old house! But I'm excited to say the least!

As a side note; I do count my blessings every day but this month I thought I would take extra time to talk about them and really reflect on all of the wonderful things I have to be thankful for! I truly am blessed!

Thankfulness ; The Countdown to Thanksgiving Day 1

Happy November!! I can't believe October is already gone!As much as I love October, November is one of my favorite months because it makes you think about all of the wonderful things we have to be thankful for! Last year I posted something I am thankful for everyday and it helped me to remember how blessed I am, so I am going to do it again this year. So today is November 1st and I am thankful for coffee and naps!

I am so tried from Halloween last night. I don't think I would have made it through this morning without my French Vanilla coffee and I fully plan on taking a nice nap as soon as I drop Caden off at school at 12:45 :)

Speaking of Halloween, the kids were the cutest Belle, Captain America and Bumble Bee EVER! They had a great day and made out like bandits with the candy. The had a parade and party in school, then we took them trick or treating before Leo had to go to work. Then we ended at a Trunk or Treat at our church. Overall it was nice but I was exhausted! I was in bed before 11pm...which is not something that happens often. I am usually up until 2 or 3am. But even with the extra sleep I am still tired. I am grateful that I can take a nap soon.

Here are a few pics from yesterday! Hope everyone had a wonderful and safe Halloween!

This kids school parties and parade:

The Blanket Fairy

I have come across this amazing organization called The Blanket Fairy .  Basically it is an organization started to help put a smile on a child's face that is going through the fight for their life. She makes blankets and sends them to children going through chemo to keep warm. When I saw this I knew I wanted to get involved, especially being that I love to sew and make blankets! So I have decided to use my business Flutterbug Boutique help out and make some blankets to donate. If anyone is interested in helping with the cost of fabric for these blanket please, please let me know. For those of you who sew know that fabric is not cheap! Any donation given will go toward the fabric and materials used to make as many blankets as I can to send! Also 20% of all orders of my products will go towards the cost of fabric as well. With your help I know we can donate a bunch of warm cozy blankets for these little ones! Please consider helping this cause and check out her site. You can also check her out on facebook at The Blanket Fairy. I will be placing a pay pal donate button on my site or you can use my email flutterbugboutique@hotmail.com, please get the word out and lets get some soft warm blankets to these children!
