Thankfulness ; The Countdown to Thanksgiving Day 14

Another day that Maddie was home from school , she had 103 fever this morning and was crying of an ear ache. I'm telling you if  it's not one thing, it's another. Caden woke up with his eyes crusted shut....awesome. So I took them both to the doctors to get some medicine because clearly things are not getting any better around here lol. So it turns out that Maddie has croup, a sinus infection, and a double ear infection. Caden has a double ear infection, a sinus infection and an eye infection. So They are on a ton a meds. I'm just glad we got this taken care of because I hate seeing my babies sick.  I'm hoping they are feeling better enough for school tomorrow.

Leo started his 4/10's at work this week, meaning he works 4 10 hour days so he has to go in at 4:30 which SUCKS!  But the plus side is that he is off on Friday so we are camping out with this kids. It's going to be a lot of fun....as long as they are feeling better :/

Anyway, Today I am thankful for my health.....although I have a slight cough I am pretty lucky that so far it hasn't been too bad. Because every mom knows that it sucks being a mom and being sick.

Thankfulness ; The Countdown to Thanksgiving Day 11

Today is 11/11/11, what a cool day. I don't believe in wishes and such but it's still pretty cool. But you know what is even cooler....it's Veterans Day. So today I am thankful for my freedom. I am thankful for all of those who fought for our freedom as well of those who died for our freedom. So today lets stand for those brave men and woman who have and will risk their lives so that we can have our freedom.

I am also thankful for my Daddy who was a WWII Vet. He served in the U.S Navy and fought in WWII. My dad is the smartest man I know, because he did everything he could to learn. He taught himself to read and write. He is amazing. He worked hard all of his life to support his family and I was lucky enough to have him retire when I was born so that he could be home with me. He knows pretty much everything and can build anything. Up until last year he was still climbing on the roof to repair it. It doesn't matter how old he gets he still does everything lol.  My dad is the ultimate role model, he has been through so much in his almost 88 years and he taught me so much about life, and still continues to teach me everyday. He is such a wonderful man, and I can't speak highly enough about him because I am the luckiest girl in the whole world that I get to call him daddy!  Thank you dad for everything you have done for me. I am truly grateful to have you as my daddy! I love you so much!

This is my dad during WWII, he was about 22 here
Not a great pic of us but I can't seem to find my favorite pic :(

Thankfulness ; The Countdown to Thanksgiving Day 9

Today is already the 9th! This month is flying by, and before we know it , it will be that time of the year again! I can say this year I am actually looking forward to the holidays.Maybe because I am making my first Thanksgiving meal this year. I'm pretty excited about it. usually I am stressed with the hustle and bustle of it all and money and such but this year I have a feeling will be different.

Onto my daily thanks :)....Today I am thankful for my amazing, silly, crazy son , Caden Bryce! He is definitely a mommas boy and loves cuddling. He is very creative and loves to color ,write, and draw. I am very blessed to have him as my son.

Thankfulness ; The Countdown to Thanksgiving Day 8

Happy Tuesday! Today I got to sleep in ! Unfortunately it was because Maddie is home sick. My poor baby woke up at 3am running a fever, lucky for her, daddy works nights so she was able to curl up with me. I am very strict when it comes to going to school but she was still miserable this morning so she stayed home. I hate when my babies are sick, but I love when they want to cuddle with me....which usually only happens when they are sick or in brief periods. So I used this opportunity to cuddle up with Maddie and watch movies all day!

So today I am thankful for Madison Leigh! She is such a beautiful, bright little girl and so full of energy.  She loves reading and writing and is always eager to learn. My whole life changed when she was born and I became a mommy, and I've loved every second of it!

Thankfulness ; The Countdown to Thanksgiving Day 5

I'm a little late on blogging today because we had an unexpected trip to Philadelphia, PA. today. Our friends Aaron and Jess called about 2 and asked if we wanted to go to Philly to get a cheese steak, so we figured hey, why not? For those of you who have never been to Philly, there is an on going rivalry that has been going for years and years between 2 Cheese steak places right across the street from each other. Geno's and Pat's . Those who live there or course have their favorites and it's almost sacrilegious to take food from one across the street to the other. They get very serious about their steaks! So we drove about an hour and a half to decide who had the better cheese steak.  Both places had a line around the building so Leo and Jess stood in one line and Aaron and I stood across the street at the other place and decided to get one of each to compare. After we ate we were going to go to The Naked Chocolate for desert but they are closed so we just headed home. It was fun though, a nice little spur of the moment trip.

Geno's or Pat's THAT is the question? So we had to try both!

And the winner is.......Geno's....at least in my book :)

Jess and Aaron liked Pat's....Leo and I prefer Geno's!

So today I am thankful for spontaneity and fun with friends. I am very blessed to have a core group of friends to share things with and to take random trips with! You all are amazing and I am lucky to have all of you in my life! Thanks for lots of fun over the years and I look forward to many more memories to come!
